    11 November 1962
    Roswell, New Mexico

Demi Moore was born in New Mexico to teenage parents. An itinerant life-style left Demi with a chameleon-like personality as she attempted to adjust to growing up surrounded by alcoholism, abuse, two divorces, some 48 different towns before she was 13 and ultimately her father's suicide a month before her eighteenth birthday.
Not surprisingly, at 15 she decided to become an actress and soon after, she quit school, moved out of home and supported herself with modeling jobs, including a stint as Qui magazine's covergirl. By 19 she had turned her modeling and commercial work into fleeting appearances in such B-movies as "Choices" and "Parasites". She married the first time at 20, to musician Freddie Moore. The marriage lasted a year and a half.
Demi's big break came in 1982 when she landed a role on the soap opera "General Hospital". This was followed by the feature film "Blame It On Rio" starring opposite Michael Caine. But the hit "St. Elmo's Fire" helped to move her several rungs up the Hollywood ladder and one step closer to her other ambition...producing. But it wasn't until starring in the supernatural romantic thriller, "Ghost" that the 5' 5", hazel eyed beauty finally realized her goal. She went on to produce "Mortal Thoughts", "The Butcher's Wife", and the highly successful, "Austin Powers" franchise.
Publicity also seems to follow Demi around. From her controversial cover on the Vanity Fair magazine when a very pregnant Demi posed nude, to her breaking the wage record for an actress when she received a reported 12 million dollars for her role in "Striptease"; something unheard of at the time.
For a time Demi was engaged to Emilio Estevez, though they never married. It was while at a screening of the movie "Stakeout" that she met Bruce Willis. Four months later they were married and 10 years after that they announced their plans to divorce. Together they have had three daugthers, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
